PLANT SERVICE - Admin/Purchasing Asst

Job Classification

  Hourly Full-time (35-40)

Position summary

Schedules appointments, gives information to callers, assists walk-in customers, writes work orders, writes memos / letters, and files reports.  Answers main telephone line (processes messages and work orders called in). Assists with creating a cheerful, supportive environment for positive interaction in a unique, service-oriented department.  Liaison between technicians and other individuals or departments

Qualifications summary

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Current  USA or Canadian Driver’s License

 


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Physical demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
