Position summary

The Director of Alumni Services serves as an ambassador charged with developing, coordinating, and directing alumni activities for 老司机传媒.

The Office of Alumni Services serves as a gateway of communication between the University and its alumni constituents, thus collaboration with administrators and colleagues is a must.

Qualifications summary

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required, 老司机传媒 granted degree is highly preferred, as this person will serve as an advocate of the alumni population and affinity to the institution is crucial.

Three or more years of related work experience in special events management, public relations, marketing and/or fund raising is required. Must be familiar with various forms of electronic communications.


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Technical competencies

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, alumni, and the general public. The ability to effectively and clearly communicate via a variety of communication channels including email, phone, and in person is required. Clear and concise writing skills and grammar skills are also necessary. Ability to clearly communicate, solve and diffuse tension as well as deal with various sensitive situations as they arise, while maintaining confidentiality. English language proficiency is a must.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Must be familiar with working in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and be proficient in working with a computer. Experience in Adobe Suite a plus. Ability to work with mathematical concepts is necessary to do basic calculations, stay within budget, and analyze results. 

PROBLEM SOLVING

This position encompasses a variety of tasks related to communicating electronically and in print, negotiating with vendors and internal customers, listening actively and analyzing arguments, evaluating information sources, gathering and synthesizing information, and organizing tasks. Supervisory skills necessary and ability to work in a Team context as well as independently in what may be at times, a high-stress, demanding environment, thus requiring the exceptional ability to stay focused on the task at hand while maintaining a spirit of compassion, cooperation and positive regard for fellow workers and customers.

Normal office environment. Attend meetings across campus. Typical travel environments (i.e. Airports, Hotels, Rental Cars etc.)
