Approved Generative AI Tools at 老司机传媒

To support innovation while safeguarding data, 老司机传媒 has curated a list of approved generative AI tools for use by faculty, staff, and students. This list reflects a thoughtful balance of security, compliance, educational value, and productivity enhancement.

Tools are categorized by their primary function, general productivity, data analysis, teaching and learning, or administrative automation and evaluated for their fit within higher education. Each tool includes guidance on acceptable data types. Use of AI tools must align with university policy, including data privacy, ethical integrity, and appropriate disclosure when used for academic or administrative work. This resource is designed to help our campus community use AI responsibly and effectively in support of our mission and values.

To ensure security, compliance, and responsible usage, the university categorizes AI tools based on their intended use:

A. General Productivity AI (e.g., Chatbots, Writing Assistants): Can be used for non-sensitive tasks like drafting emails, summarizing content, and brainstorming ideas, provided no confidential data is shared.
B. AI for Data Analysis & Decision Support: Requires approval before implementation if it processes university data. Outputs must be reviewed for accuracy and bias.
C. AI in Teaching & Learning: Faculty and staff should refer to institutional guidelines on AI integration in coursework, assessments, and student support tools.
D. AI for Administrative Automation: Any AI handling student records, financial data, or personnel information must undergo a risk and compliance review before adoption.
