Medical Laboratory Sciences—MSMLS

The Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences is a professional degree designed to equip graduates for the increasingly complex healthcare environment. Graduates of the program may be qualified for a variety of leadership positions, such as laboratory managers or supervisors, educators, laboratory information systems directors, healthcare administrators and researchers.

PROGRAM LENGTH

This 38-credit program can typically be completed by full-time students in two years.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Prospective students without MLS professional certification can only start the program in summer semesters and must complete the application and submit all the requirements before March 15.

Prospective students with MLS professional certification must submit their applications by the dates listed below.

  • Fall (August–December): July 15
  • Spring (January–May): November 15
  • Summer Session 1 (May–June): April 1
  • Summer Session 2 (June–July): May 1
  • Summer Session 3 (July–August): June 1

  • Only Seventh-day Adventist graduate medical laboratory science program in North America.
  • Professional degree culminates in capstone experience.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor's degree (or non-U.S equivalent) from an accredited institution and a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (applicants with lower GPA may be admitted upon consideration of the composite profile).
  • Applicants must hold U.S. professional certification or licensure in medical laboratory science. American Society for Clinical Pathology standards are used to evaluate general and specialized certification.
  • Two recommendations from professionals such as advisors, major professors and employers.
  • Resume describing employment, research or special projects.
  • Statement of Purpose reflecting your philosophical perspective, personal, professional and academic goals, and reasons for seeking the graduate program.
  • TOEFL, IELTS or PTE (academic): Students whose language of education is not English must submit English proficiency tests scores.
